Brainspotting Consultant-in-Training (CIT) Program

Brainspotting Consultants are ambassadors of the Brainspotting community and as such are expected to demonstrate the core principals of BSP, including Curiosity, Connection and Compassion. As part of the CIT training and afterwards, consultants are expected to participate in ongoing Brainspotting trainings both as a student and as an assistant, to have personal Brainspotting sessions, and in general, to strive to continually develop their self-awareness and skills.  Consultants are also expected to be organized, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be open-minded and seek to be supportive rather than competitive as well as embody the anti-oppression/anti-racism principles inherent in Brainspotting.

Each CIT trainer brings their unique perspective to the CIT process.  This training process includes 3 main stages: 1) Review of the Consultation Check list; demonstrating a clear understand of all elements noted and an ability to articulate that understanding. 2) develop your approach to consultation and practice this with co-trainees. 3) Begin to practice consultation with 1-2 consultee and review and refine your work with them.
Eligibility to become a Brainspotting Consultant-in-Training (CIT):
1.) Has been a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner for a minimum of one year.
2.) Has attended the most recently developed trainings: Phase 1 and Phase 2
3.) Has attending at least two of the following 4 trainings: Phase 3, Phase 4, Master Class, Intensive (in-person or virtual)
4.) Possesses the characteristics of an Approved Brainspotting Consultant and Affirms Brainspotting Culture as noted above.
5.) Engages in Activities that promote Brainspotting.
6.) Demonstrates involvement in Brainspotting Community.

Costs associated with the training process: $2000 for the training, $250 for purchasing Phase 1 and 2 videos (if you do not already have them or don’t have someone to share them with), $50 for the Application for Approval as a Brainspotting Consultant at completion of the training, additional costs for recommended reading material (optional). Payments plans are available. Understanding that unforeseen circumstance may arise that impede your completion of the CIT process, the training fee will be prorated.
