Testimonials
"I love how compassionate both trainers and team were. They seemed to be checking in with people who expressed strong intense feelings or passionate when they wanted something different. I enjoy the small groups as I felt heard. I often have a lot to share and the big groups sometimes is the same people talking. Finally, our small group facilitator checked in about partner preference as mine had left and returned the next day.
Thank, thank you for the diverse group. And thank you for the scholarship. I have been using it with several of my Spanish speaking clients and two of my English-speaking speaking that had been labeled as resistant to treatment in the past. In fact it has been the most effective those clients. I have done two solids session heading to the 3rd session with those clients. " E.S. 2026
“Brainspotting is a brain based therapy and during my experience I was allowed to access some of my most negative thoughts and work through them as my brain worked to correct itself. So essentially Brainspotting is giving our brain an opportunity to be more resilient with mindful focus. And since our brain is a muscle it makes sense to ‘retrain’ our brain using Brainspotting. Brainspotting also allows you to reconnect with your body. While doing BSP I was able to feel within my body and work on pushing that block out. BSP really resonated with my cultural and spiritual beliefs in that I was able to connect to my ancestors. So it also can resonate at a soul level for those interested in doing soul work or in my case healing of intergenerational traumas. Niawen / Thank you” – Kawennake Michelle Smoke, LMHC (2022)
“I am incredibly grateful for the scholarship that allowed me to attend Brainspotting Phase 1 and 2 training. The experience was phenomenal, and the trainers, Deb and Sue, were amazing. Both trainings were exceptionally inclusive of diverse identities and backgrounds, making everyone feel welcome and respected. The application of Brainspotting has been life-changing for me. I now feel exponentially more prepared to serve my clients, helping them address and move long-term trauma held in the body and mind. This training has significantly enhanced my ability to support and guide my clients towards healing and recovery. Thank you for this invaluable opportunity. With so much appreciation and gratitude for this opportunity, ” – Moises (2024)
“My experience in the training was absolutely amazing. I felt privileged to be part of such a wonderful collective space that left me feeling excited and empowered to use these skills with my clients. I found that the practice, reviews and the deep connections during the sessions really amplified the experience. I am grateful to be part of this community now and looking forward to assist my clients even more on their healing journey. Thank you selecting me to be part of something great.” – Vee M. (2024)
“I am incredibly grateful to Healing TREE for providing me with a scholarship to get Brainspotting training. This opportunity means a lot to me, as I wouldn’t have been able to receive this training within the first years of my practice, yet it holds immense importance considering the trauma within my client population. Healing TREE’s mission to advocate for healing from abuse and trauma is crucial, especially considering the stigma around mental health within BIPOC communities. Through this training, I have gained invaluable skills and knowledge that have enhanced my ability to support and facilitate true healing from the effects of trauma. Thank you, Healing TREE, for this remarkable opportunity and for your unwavering dedication to creating a healing movement. I am honored to be a part of this training with great trainers where every single person was holding similar values around equity and look forward to contributing to the mission of healing and empowerment in my own practice.” – Zeynep Babali-Cicek, MHP, LADC (2024)
“Being able to attend Phase 1 & 2 of the Brainspotting training was incredible and would not have happened any time soon without a scholarship from Healing TREE. I am so incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity to expand my knowledge and to be able to offer my clients a new way of processing. I feel that Brainspotting is especially helpful in the South Asian community as there is often a disconnect between what we’re thinking and what we’re feeling. To be able to offer my clients (and myself) a new way of building that connection is so helpful and so necessary. 10/10 recommend this training and Healing THREE for providing BIPOC practitioners access to this training!” – Scholarship Trainee (2024)
“I must express my immense gratitude for the opportunity provided to me by Sue, Deb, and Healing TREE. Learning about and incorporating Brainspotting has been an extraordinary journey for both me and my clients. It seamlessly complemented the work I was already undertaking in the domains of somatic and experiential therapy. The trainers demonstrated exceptional expertise and were incredibly knowledgeable. Moreover, I forged meaningful connections with fellow participants during the training. Words cannot fully capture my appreciation for this invaluable experience. I felt completely at ease throughout the training sessions, which fostered a truly safe and supportive environment.” – Scholarship Trainee (2024)
“Thanks to Healing TREE, I have been able to now offer Brainspotting to my diverse clientele and have already seen such a difference in the responses of my clients’ treatments. Without this scholarship, I would not have been able to be apart of this training. To be able to give the gift of brainspotting back to my community is more than I could ever ask for. Thank you again Healing TREE!” – Jordan Beckum, M.ED., APC, NCC (2023)
“I felt extremely grateful to have been a recipient of the BIPOC brainspotting scholarship. I was able to learn so many things that will allow me to help the population I serve and aid in their healing. The training itself went beyond the parameters of just learning something. It was hands on (or as hands on as something can be through Zoom) and within three short days, it allowed me to build deep connections to people that I otherwise would’ve not had the chance to have met. This training also afforded me opportunities to heal and grow on a personal level, which I believe is component to conducting therapy, self-helper healing. For anyone who is looking to transform their practice and learn another way to help clients, I 100% recommend both applying for this scholarship and attending the training.” – Desi Mendez (2023)
